I thought getting the basic structure of the ent down with twigs and then sticking it together with green stuff to cover up holes and make it look more "organic." Then sculpting the face with green stuff. Has anyone tried something like this? |

Yes I did, Although it was a combination of metal wire which you can also use for normal trees, I covered it with glue and paper, and added real twigs. The result was quite good, altough if I look at it now it isn't that good, but that was almost 10 years ago... But It was a lot of fun to make it, with twigs, of metal wire you have complete freedom to make a nice pose! I just had a walk through the autumn forest, It's amazing how much stuff is usefull for all the models, so many stones to build walls, little pieces of wood that would make excellent terrain, I can thank the Modelbuilder above for all this highly detailed stuff ! |

I have made a lot of trees from natural vines and mosses and handy tree trimmings. You can pin the different parts together with very little effort. It is a matter of finding suitable branches. I have tried making them from clay. I have been experimenting with making them from twisted paper and hot glue. These are for a Halloween Forest the tree limbs are plastic plants. After Halloween sale 70% off It is easy to make silly cartoony trees but I have gotten better at it for Mirkwood styled trees. Link to where I found the idea. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7SanvkjLRRA Part 2 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qfhvGevUhII |
