The title says it all. I've decided to fork out and get the fellowship commissioned!

Now, most of the fellowship is easy enough to pick which poses I prefer. But I'm having real trouble deciding on Gimli. Suggestions and input are welcome. Throw me your favourites for the whole fellowship while you are at it :D

My personal favourite Gimlis are either the Heroes of the West or Helm's Deep - booth very majestic, dynamic poses, capturing the idea of "Gimli" far better than the film portrayal.
My favourite Frodo and Sam are the Breaking of the Fellowship version, as they look better than the cowardly, ugly versions of other boxes. Seriously, why does Frodo look like a Goblin in EVERY model?
Favourite Merry and Pippin are the armoured versions, very heroic and characterful.
I love the Aragorn model from the three Hunters, but not as an Aragorn model - i don't think the look embodies him. That said, i love the mini itself.
Boromir, for me, is the COTWT, without banner.
Legolas: the one standing on the rock, bow drawn.
Gandalf: the white, drawing his sword.

Breaking of the Fellowship is my favourite Gimli pose.

The decision becomes difficult when contemplating which Gimli to choose alongside your other Fellowship members. I found this out myself when doing a similar project, but creating my own White Council through converting various hero and command miniatures about six years ago. Personally, my favourite ever Gimli pose was the one featured in the 'Death of Gothmog' diorama, which also happens to contain my favourite sculpt of Aragorn (which is something else you might like to think about). However, as I mentioned earlier, it's Gimli's correlation with the other Fellowship members. If they're all running or in an action-packed position then this is perfect, but if most of your Fellowship are just stood in deep-thought or perhaps sat down smoking pipe-weed, then it would look strange having Gimli charging off into the distance. Bear in mind this version of Gimli is now also OOP, but does crop up very often on Ebay and even Amazon (though very rarely) for about £10 approx.

Gimli on dead Uruk is my favouraite display pose. As for a more gamey pose, Helms Deep Gimli is my favourite.

You look into some converted poses to get the pose you really want.

Well I have decided on

Gandalf - Khazad dum
Aragon - Breaking of the fellowship
Boromir - Breaking of the fellowship
Legolas - Helms Deep
Gimli - Helms deep

For the hobbits i'm less fussed on. Other than the armoured version of merry and pippin I find that Sam is the only character with nice figures. Frodo's figures stink!

I think you've got some good choices there, personally I prefer Amon Hen gimli. As for the hobbits, i think the Emyn Muil Frodo is quite good, I also like weathertop but he isnt wielding Sting.
