Hey guys, I was thinking of converting some bare chested corsair reavers for my army, and was wondering if anyone knows of any models from a different range with bare chests that I can convert up with plastic corsair parts to make some convincing reavers relatively cheaply?

Well I would think the plastic torch carrying berserkers could help you out.
Just convert the sword a bit and replace the torch with a hand weapon ( or keep it )
And swap heads of course :) If you do this I would love to see some pictures because I was thinking of doing it myself for a long time.

Are those kind of conversions tournament legal? What is GW's opinion. In friendly matches ofc if conversions are good then no prob, but what about serious official stuff?
(notice that reavers are OP)

I'm not sure, personally I'm not really interested in tournaments, just friendly matches (as friendly as they can be when I'm bringing reavers)

If it's 100% Citadel and looks like what it's meant to be then yes, it's legal at official GW tournaments.

If it looks quite different to what it's supposed to be but still 100% Citadel then it's more of a grey area and it's best to email Warhammer World with a photo for advance approval.

If it's been converted with elements from other manufacturers you will probably be told you can't use it.

Hmm... so would an entirely green-stuff miniature that uses a citadel head, arms and weaponry count as legal? Even green-stuff is sold by Citadel, so if they wanted to get pedantic I suppose that card is available to use?

That being said was there ever an official GW sculpt for the reavers? I ended up taking some of the sword and shield plastic corsairs, filing off the shield and adding a second blade.

I think it's highly unlikely they would have a problem with that. When I say 100% citadel what I mean is, the manufactured components are 100% citadel.

If there isn't an official model he can convert whatever he wants, as long at it only uses GW products in it. They to only allow LOTR-based conversions in LOTR tournaments so you couldn't use Fantasy bits, but that may have changed now.

Anyway who cares if it's legal really? Unless you're going to Throne of Skulls no-one else will. GW store managers won't be bothered if you use the Corsair as the base model at least.

The Watuta Warriors I believe.

Though Meertal's link is better as they're plastic so will be easer to convert. I can vouch personally for the quality of Warlord Games' plastics aswell. :)

I find that the Rohan Warrior set is good for corsairs, as for bare chested idk.
