I want to recreate the black metallic colour of the Uruk's armour, hitch you see in the film (and GW's models).

I once achieved the colour with Gothmog's armour, but that was a pure fluke. I want to get a cohesive scheme through my minis as an army.

Help is greatly appreciated, thanks.

Boltgun metal. Three or more liberal washes of black ink. Lightly dry brush with bolt gun metal, then a very light dry brush with mithril silver. 50/50 water and black ink again, then pick out detail with pure mithril silver.

I would follow the advice given by mertaal. All the mentioned paints, however, have been replaced by new ones. Boltgun Metal = Leadbelcher, Mithril Silver = Runefang Steel, and Black Ink = Nuln Oil. I hope this helps! :)

Yeah, that's the way I do mine too although admittedly for time's sake I only do one wash before the highlight.

I do basically what they are talking about and this is how mine turned out.

Keep in mind I am a very beginner painter so with practice I'm sure you can make yours look way better then this even.
