I had just started assembling the model and glued the two halves of the main body together as they fit reasonably well, but the two halves of Azog's lower torso are completely uneven and leaves a noticeably large gap, also, the model leans noticeably to one side when placed on the base. Is this normal?

PS This is NOT a FineCast thread, I'm specifically asking about this model and whether this is common, and whether green stuff will be adequate. I do not want people ranting about FC on here.

PPS Can you respond as soon as possible please

I didn't have too many problems with the parts lining up, here's a photo of mine pre-undercoat, it's not the best angle for the parts your asking about but it gives you some idea of where I used Greenstuff.

I think there was a small gap between Azog's chest and the loincloth on the left of his back but nothing too serious that a little greenstuff didn't fix. I also didn't have any issues with the model leaning to either side.

The trickiest part for me (and a problem I also had with Beorn) was getting his left arm to match up to both his shoulder and the part of his hook on the warg. As the warg, torso and arm were 3 separate pieces it was very hard to decide exactly where to glue the torso knowing the his left arm has to match up exactly in two separate places.

It was a fiddly model to assemble and required a little bit of green stuffing but nothing I found particularly frustrating/badly cast.

Hope this helps

As you know I am not a fan of Fine Cast but I can offer some advice.
Take two tea cups. Fill one with boiling water and the other with room temperature water. Put the wag's foot in the hot water and wait for it to warm up. The gently correct the position. Chill the model in the cool water. That should reset it into the correct position.

I would like to see a photo before I make suggestions on correcting the misalignment of the other parts. I don't know if hot water or a large file will work best.

Thank you, especially for the photo Dr Grant. The weird part is that both halves of the Warg lined up perfectly but Azog's loincloth section did not and neither did the leg, from the pics in your WIP I see a slight lean is normal, I think if I straighten the legs, as per Oldman Willow's suggestion (Thank you too 8) ) which I will do tomorrow morning. With the torso part I had to use greenstuff, it's pretty noticeable but since that part will be painted dark and the skin pale I should disguise it. I can't take a photo because there is no daylight, and there hasn't been enough daylight here to take a photo for over a week.
