I wanted to know how everyone does bases for dwarves as mine look a bit brigh. Is there a cerian colour to paint the sand, as they have it brown on GW website. Any suggestions?

Paint the sand Stormvermin Fur or use the Texture paint Astrogranite, then dry brush with Longbeard Grey

This isn't specifically about dwarf bases but you mentioned painting the sand so I thought I'd explain my technique too.

I paint the model first, then glue a mixture of sand and very small rocks onto the top. Once dry, I cover everything in Rhinox Hide (Scorched Brown in old paints), then dry brush it Mournfang Brown (Bestial Brown), then dry brush it Ushabti Bone (Bleached Bone). Finally I paint the rim Mournfang Brown and glue some scorched Grass on top in little patches.

I'm very fond of this technique, I've used it for all my SBG models and it ties them all together nicely, it also means I can happily mix and match my models for different armies and still create a cohesive force.

Your work has noticeably and vastly improved with every miniature you know mate, love your WIP.

Use the GW texture paints as they provide a much better finish compared to the old glue the base dip it in the sand which you can clearly see is too much on the base ( in my opinion ) , even after shaking the remains off. First Base coat the base with XV-88 , then put on stridland mud or any other texture paint , then dry brush Karak Stone over the top , use a tiny amount of glue to add the scrubs of scorched grass. Its how the 'eavy metal' team do it and what they are there for :) .

Not on your life mate! :o As much as I've loved painting each and every one of these gorgeous dwarf models (I'll hopefully have pics of Bifur up tomorrow night!), I'm desperate to have them finished and move on to something else - like some sexy new Mirkwood Rangers perhaps :D I never want to paint those dwarves again! Despite this, the crazy thing is as soon as I saw the barrel set I immediately wanted it! I suppose that's only half of each dwarf really so 6/7 in total :-) Not yet though, think I'll pick up the box and stick it away for a paint job in the future.

Thanks for the kind words buddy, it really means a lot and inspires me to keep going, there's such a wonderful and supportive community on this forum, it's why I spend so much of my time on here!
