Hey guys, having trouble painting radagast. The tutorial tells me to paint the back cloak with Rakarth flesh then wash it with 80% Mournfang brown and 20% lahmian medium, then wash it again with more medium added. Now, all the detail has gone and it looks like this. What do I do? |

If you can show a picture of the model that would help. But the first thing is an 80-20 mix is far too thick to "wash" a model, so they're setting you up for failure. I'd recommend stripping the model, I've never stripped a resin model but I'd guess that simply-green would work. You just soak the model in that for several hours and then rinse with warm water and scrub with a semi-firm brush (many people recommend a tooth brush but personally I have 3 small grill cleaning brushes that work great). That should clean off the paint and if you're careful should leave the model itself unharmed. And now for when you repaint the model, if you're going to apply washes you need closer to a 50/50 split to make a wash that won't obscure your whole model. What is the base color? I couldn't find Rakarth flesh in GW's paint catalog. Any other painting help/advice I can give I'd love to |

Ask some of the guys on this site who have already shown us excellent results with Radagast - for example: viewtopic.php?f=50&t=26906 And another thing to bear in mind is that not everyone uses GW paints, or even a single manufacturers offerings, so colours may be a mixture of origins - you can get conversion tables in places like this: http://www.dakkadakka.com/wiki/en/Paint ... lity_Chart Best of luck! |
