This weekend I'm thinking about starting to paint the Sauron the necromancer model pictured here:

Anyone ever painted this before? Perhaps I missed it but I couldn't find a guide anywhere on the site. I really like GW's color scheme, anyone got any advice on how to get that eerie green color right? Any advice you all can give would be much appreciated.

Although I've never painted the mini myself, I've thought about colour schemes. I'd Sauron to blend the green from a dark base . Just gradually get lighter, and go to this very bright green (can't think of the paint name). Then just give it a wash or glaze with GW's glaze wash, and I'm guessing you'll have a pretty good looking mini. Just paint the other bits, metal and so on in your way.

Alternatively, blend from a dark grey to a light grey and then add the wash or glaze over the top.

Good luck 8)

or go from a white undercoat and use inks and wash low lighting and shading its very counter instinctive but if your patient it will look good don't forget that liquids will follow gravity though...
