So.. I got these guys (Eomer, Aragorn (Helms Deep), Sulladan; all without weapon or arm) cheap on ebay. In fact I only wanted Eomer and the conversion kit, but it was a nice deal after all. Now I'm looking for ideas what to do with these guys. For Eomer I might go with the spear conversion of MonotoneMatt. Any ideas (esp. for the other two) are welcome though!! Would be happy about many suggestions!

You could remove Aragorn's head, replace it with a different one and give him a banner? |

Does Eomer intend to stay as Eomer? Something I did was convert him into a book version of Theodred (so he has a beard) by lowering the sword arm, sculpting some thigh pauldrons in the fashion of Theoden's, stripping off the horsehair from the helmet to leave it unadorned as per Theoden's helmet and repositioning the head so it's looking more straight on. I added a shield and the green armour paintjob (with a browner beard). I actually did this to a mounted version of an Eomer model, but the changes applied are still the same. |

Yes he should remain Eomer. But you idea sounds very interesting ezeqiel! Do you have a picture maybe? I like your signature!

Here ya go dude... He's still a work in progress but here's my idea on a Theodred conversion from Eomer, last time I touched him was about 2yrs ago when I faded away from the hobby due to kids etc... but I intend to sort him out shortly...   (excuse the novice attempt at chainmail!) edited to remove some of my wip images so as to not hijack this thread! |

I had the same problem with a sword-less eomer from ebay, I gave him a spear and swapped his head but you could easily do it without the head swap: viewtopic.php?f=50&t=22111&start=20 You could always green stuff a sword for aragorn and use him for arathorn or something, though the banner idea sounds good too! As for Suladan, if you gave him a weapon or something he could be an alternate looking dragon knight, harad captain etc. |

Ezeqiel that looks really nice! Really prefer it over the GW Theodred. Also, Eomer is cheaper on ebay.. might get one for such conversion  Legolas, that indeed is a nice Eomer conversion too! Since his pose is quite static and doesnt require a repositioned arm I might go for this one. I already have this Aragorn, so I wouldnt need a second one And the banner bearer would be the only acceptable pose I can thin k of so far. I dont really need one though What would he be? Rohirrim? Gondorian? Maybe i could try and give him a hood made of chainmail?And for Suladan.. I had not a single southener before. I concentrate my little "collection" on Rohan and Isengard, accomppied by the Fellowship, some gobbos, high elves and orcs. So this guy would stand out with any of those fractions :| |

Cheers for the nice comments folks about Theodred, (though I don't want to appear to hijack Rognarr's thread so I'll strip all but one of those pics out now). If I recall correctly he is older than Eomer in the books and going by general Rohan appearances it would have been unlikely for him to have been clean shaven, "The Battles of the Fords of Isen" story from Unfinished Tales was always a favourite of mine and I've always wanted to do Theodred justice over the young lad that the films portrayed him as (tho I liked their armour for him!) In terms of the Aragorn model, I like the idea of the banner bearer alot, perhaps add on a cloak, straighten the lower right leg to more of a 90* angle and add a rock below it (to remove the impression of running) and a nice straw-head paintjob on the hair and he could be a decent Rohan Standard Bearer - name him Guthlaf perhaps? In terms of Suladan, no ideas on him at all I'm afraid! |

Don't worry Ezqiel! I appreciate your conversion pics and am thankful that you posted them into this thread! I'm always happy to see nice, simple and effective conversions!
