 I've lost Kili's bow in the sink while washing/cleaning the miniatures  Does anyone have a spare one or an extra Kili?

Probably it's still on the sink drain, try to dismantle it.

And now you know why I wash plastic frames carefully in a light coloured basin so I can see everything AND check the bottom of the basin before pouring out the soapy water. GW plastics cost far too damned much to be losing parts.

If you've permanently lost it, there are three courses open to you
- A trade (here on O-R or elsewhere)
- Buying a spare Kili on the the net (Ebay is your friend)
- Making one out of wire and maybe a bit of greenstuff, if you feel up to it. It's not that hard to convert a bow (curved bit of iron wire with GS ends) and a bag (rectangular piece of GS).

You do know that plastic models don't need cleaning really don't you.

But good on you for finding an alternative, was that made with instantmold?

I've never cleaned a styrene plastic kit in my 16 years of doing this hobby! It's just not necessary if you are using spray undercoat!
Glad you have found a solution though! :)

I don't know exactly how my friend did it, I think he created mold from green stuff.
I clean my models after cleaning the bits and mold lines...

What an excellent friend. Deserves a pint for his trouble, methinks.

Like goblin_king, I've never washed the plastic kits, though I have some metal models.

Plastics have mold release on them, sometimes more then they should, it just helps paint adehesion. I was everything too, after prep is finished, but over a cullender

I've never washed a mini in my life and have never had any issues.

I have only recently started washing metal models because they come from GW covered in a white powder...never washed plastic though.

Might be because of the high humidity here, we have issues priming outside, if it comes out fuzzy its either mold release residue on a non humid day, or humidity when its humid. I don't take any chances anymore, GW spray paint is too expensive to have to strip off and try again

thats why I use a cheaper alternative. The paint I use i get 25% more for half the price. And i've primed plastic, metal and FC with no problems.

Wait until you paint a finecast - need an hour in the dishwasher before the primer will even touch it ....anyway on topic Kili's bow - well done for getting an alternative Werner
