Post subject:  Noob question on bending metal spears straight

My metal Armored Boromir (with banner)'s spear is EXTREMELY bent and crooked. I flexed it back to being straight as far by my fingers as the overall posture is concerned but its like bent and pinched in the space between his arm and above and his arm and below. what's the best way to bend spears into a perfect straight shape without damaging it or breaking it?

Plyers havent been kind to me as I always manage to leave gash marks from the nose of the plyers in the spear that dont look nice once the spear is painted. Any tips?

maybe warming the metal a bot to make the unbending smoother? Keep the metal miniature in your hands or use a hair blower and when you see that the metal is easy to bend then bend it. That way the bending will be easier and better done.
Do that again and again, bit by bit with some pauses to let the mini cool.
At least thats how fixed my metal GoFT(they had bended spears and helmets)

Hope that helps

put your T-shirt over the teeth of the plyers and nip it - should be ok

With bent spears and swords, I use a steel ruler as a base and gently press the metal part against it with my fingers. This smooths out most of the kinks, and then I use another piece of flat metal (a second, smaller steel ruler) and press that down on top of it to get it perfectly flat.

GW used to produce a pair of pliers that was flat (no teeth) with a long and narrow curved points. They work exceptionally well.
