Spear. All the 2H orcs have weapons with a point that is perpendicular to the weapon shaft. |

I think GW created a lot of confusion when they lumped all the pole arms together as spears but it made the rules simpler too. There is no difference in game terms between a trident and a bill or a spear.I think most of the orc spear men are equipped with pole arms that should count as spears. Quote: Spear. All the 2H orcs have weapons with a point that is perpendicular to the weapon shaft. You forgot the old metal orcs who are armed with pole arms with points perpendicular to the weapon shaft. There are exceptions to every definition I could think of too. This is the best I could come up with for orc two handed weapons. If the orc is holding the weapon like a baseball bat it probably should count as a two handed weapon. Orcs with weapons with a point that is perpendicular to the weapon shaft if held in the over hand position count as 2H weapons. I believe there is a orc hero with a two handed mace as well. Making the rules simple sure does cause confusion. |

Sad, but true. When I got the RotK starter set, I was so confused by the rules that I started converting both groups so that they had blades for all uses. Essentially, they would have counted as armed with halberds. Then I found out that was prohibited in the weapon rules. Fortunately, I hadn't converted too many yet, because I was busy with school back then. Unfortunately, I haven't done much of anything with most of my orcs since, so I've got an entire horde that hasn't been painted or anything. |

Quote: armed with halberds I think a halberds house rule would be fun like war dogs and hawks on the other thread. The elf sword sets a precedent. The halberd could be used as a 2H weapon or a spear. I don't think a halberd is as hard to use as a normal 2H weapon. Of course the elf sword would not be difficult to use either. As long as it is reasonable I generally like house rules. |

Well with the THW models in the Orc box set i took the horizontal blades off the weapons and fitted a knife blade to the other end to make them Spears, prefer them to THW to back up my Uruks with Shield. 'FireKnife' |
