Post subject: | Sculpting Help - Best material |
Greetings Earthlings! In a glorious bid to drive myself insane I've decided to do a bit of sculpting for the OR Awards. Now, to limit the amount of grey matter I will actually lose in this process can any of you give me some hints on the best putties/clays to use. I'm looking at something pretty big and quite thick in parts. I bought some super sculpey but it's just too soft to use properly for what I want unless I leave it for a few days after each manipulation. I've got some procreate coming soon, is that any good? And of course I've had experience with green stuff but it would be too expensive for what I'm planning. Cheers, Pinky |

In my experience procreate is the best stuff on the market. Its similar to green stuff but less sticky at least to our tools. Also it holds edges much better than green stuff. And it is also cheaper. You can always bulk the figure out with something like milliput and then do the last layer or so with procreate. Personally i dont like milliput but some people love the stickiness of it. Also its dirt cheap. Hope this helps . Oh and goodluck on the project. |

I agree. Pro Create is in my opinion the easiest putty to work with. A great all-rounder. |

Personally, I like Green Stuff best. I have some milliput as well, but anyone who uses it needs to wear gloves, because the stuff is basically a porcelain mix, and you don't want it curing on your hands or washing down your drain. |
