Post subject:  Heating Plastic Wings

So I was wondering if it was a good idea to try heating up some plastic wings to reshape them a bit. Just wondering if it would work or not, anybody have any experience with this?

Specifically, I wanted to model one of the plastic felbeasts lying on the ground dead and wanted to reshape the wings so it looked a bit better lying there.

a metal container + salt, heat it up on the stove and dip the plastic part you wish to soften.

That's Salt Dipping.

I've bent big chunks of plastic with ease using this method. You have to be careful of course as it stretches the plastic and if you let it heat up for too long, you know what to expect from heated plastic~

Also, never use open fire, but I think you figured that out yourself.

Here's my first attempt at Salt Dipping.

That's a WFB Warrior of Chaos torso used for the centaur's man parts. The Cape is one chunk of hard plastic stuck to the torso, bending it proved very easy and you can see a slight stretch of the plastic on the left side of it.

Just be careful and it'll work fine.

Thanks a lot, I'll try it out myself and I guess I'll see how it turns out.
