This is how I am planning on displaying my LOTR collection. I've been buying up display cabinets at flea markets (boot sales) and have enough to begin to hang them and fill 'em up.

This is my first one. It's mirrored, so the picture is not the best. But you get the idea. I have another dozen or so. This cabinet was for model cars, so it is large enough to hold mounted figures.

This is some of my Elven army. I think it looks pretty cool.
Here's another shot from a different angle.

Very cool. The shelves look just tall enough for the Galadhrim pikes - nice and compact.

Hobbit, I'm guessing that you want the inside shelf dimension? There are two different sizes shelves in there. The larger 3 inch shelves have the mounted figures on them.
The others are about 2 1/4 to 2 1/2.

Check out display cases for model cars or trains. That's what this was. I got it used for 50 bucks at a flea market.

Looks really good. 8)
How would you display larger models such as trolls or other large creatures?

I have them in a larger cabinet. It pays to shop at flea markets for these type cases.
They are very expensive to buy new, but I pick them cheap, depending on size, from second hand vendors. HotWheels shows would be a good place to find them. Train shows, too.
