I am in Northern Ireland (Derry), sometimes in Donegal and usually up to no good.

Contains horsemeat?

lol! not exactly, but that is another similarity.

I was loosely referring to Rohan's loss of sovereignty through Saruman's possession of Theoden and how it seemed Theoden was giving the orders when in fact it was coming from an outside influence.
Same deal in Ireland, our public representatives are in breach of trust because their adhering to outside influences at the expense of its people and it's land.

Oh I get it, does Saruman by any chance live in Brussels? This bail out thing sucks!

So it's nothing to do with that world famous Irish Daily Star front page photo and headline from a couple of years ago? It's a wee bit rude for the younger and more delicate people around here so I will not be specific :) The thing is, I have yet to find evidence that politicians and financiers anywhere in the world are one jot different to those who ruined Ireland's economy.

Ardobe: Sucks alright. If Saruman is in Brussels where does that put Saruon then?

Dorthonion: I'm not familiar with the Daily Star article but you've made me curious about it now. I agree though, politicians etc do act alike, however they seem to believe their doing they right thing, otherwise they wouldn't be doing it. Also, their job is to maintain the economy and its contributing systems so in one sense their doing nothing wrong and it's all exactly as it should be. It does feel wrong though, whats happening, but we are equally to blame for letting it happen. such a mess though.

Belfast? If you visit the GW at the back of Castlecourt and have a few minutes to spare, there is another independent place about 50 yards away called The Modeller's Nook. You never know what you might find in these places - a lot of harder to find stuff turns up. I have not been in Belfast in years but that will change this year (not for good reasons unfortunately).

If your drinking you'll probably end up on John Street at some point, it's well known for accommodating hordes of hens and stags, quite a popular place because of all the pubs and restaurants on it. Over the bridge and into town you'll find most of the same but theres a lot more traditional music going on there.
I don't drink very often so I cant really say if its any good, but KK draws a lot of stag and hen parties so there must be something good going with regards to that :)

This doesn't happen to have anything to do with the fact that Ireland is one of the reasons (along with Greece, Portugal and some others) why the Eurozone has been on the brink of collapse for the past few years, does it?

Hence the headline I was referring to but will not quote here directly so as not to potentially offend O-R members (I will happily repeat it loudly at any passing politicians). But Ireland (former Celtic Tiger) is really small by comparison to the other countries. The bigger picture casts credit rating agencies, international banks and big business in a very poor light but they are all pointing the blame at governments.
But back to Middle-earth - the annoying thing about this part of the country is I am sitting in splendid isolation. The few gamers I know are either WH40K obsessed (big fans of 'Cheese-hunters' on Beasts of War) or indelibly wed to Warhammer. Aah well.

It has to do with the Euro Crisis but it seems that blaming those countries people with finical burden and uncertainty is far from fact.

Dorthonion: I've still no idea what that article was about. I can empathies with your situation though, I've got woods, rivers, small valleys and old ruins on my doorstep but no gamers.
