| Post subject: | Will Saruman be shown in the Desolation of Smaug? |
As you know Saruman is portrayed by Christopher Lee. His name is in the cast list of this film but only in imdb. For last four days i see another cast list in the web but his name is not in this list. Do you know something about this? Will the White Council attack to Dol Guldur? |

No. Nor Elrond. Galadriel is in it briefly, apparently. The siege of Dol Guldur is next movie, so it seems. |

The commentary for AUJ confirms that Saruman will appear again in the trilogy, it doesn't stress which of the two films he'll be in though. There's also discussion of 'how' the Morgul Blade gets back to its owner so perhaps that's a possible plot point for him. There's quite a few tidbits in the commentary that give hints to the next two films that I'm gonna type up into a new thread just as soon as I get a few minutes spare! Hope this helps. |
