An interesting article in one of the newspaper websites today, based on the theory that this may have been the inspiration for the Ring of Power. Tolkein was researching this ring 2 years before he began writing his tales. http://www.guardian.co.uk/books/2013/ap ... exhibition I like the idea. A bit like Tutenkhamun's Curse but on a smaller scale. |

Hmmmmm I saw that article too. It's interesting to think that Tolkien's literary efforts might have been directly influenced by this. I imagine there are few authors who brains are not 'seeded' with ideas in some way so perhaps there is an element of truth in this article. |
