Where does Gandalf get his staffs? Sorry there is no punch line. I do really want to know. He has three in the films. But its been a while since I've read the books and I cant remember the making or procuring of the staffs mentioned. He starts with the natural wooden one with the spines going upwards which Saruman takes. Then going in to moria he has the one with the spines going forward (which has room for the gem). Then obviously the white staff. Can he just knock up a new one from anything? Is there any info at all on the staffs? |

He probably stole Radagast's. It's a good question; I'd say that, when he 'dies' on Zirak-zigil he is given the awesome, white staff; but where he gets the one between Isengard and MorĂa... who can say? |

Maybe new line cinema just made a mistake or changed the story line or something but i agree with ingolds theory of the white staff |

As I recall following his fight with the Balrog his white staff was crafted by Galadriel. As for the staff he got having escapes Orthanc I've no idea Being one of the Meier then I would guess he got his original staff as a freebee from his gaffer !!! |

Yep, he got his clothes in Lorien too so he didn't have to go around in his birthday suit... |
