I have a question. I thought I read somewhere, and I could be wrong, that the official rule on proxy use, was allowed if the miniature serving as proxy is obviously different than the others, beyond a different paint scheme. In example, if I take a regular easterling warrior and then modify him (reposition, add green stuff, etc) and call him a warpriest, it is still "tournament" legal. I know among friends that hardly matters. When Chief Hugh and I play pretty much anything goes for a proxy, but let's say for example, I make a warpriest from an existing easterling warrior and haul him with me to some big tourney, is it legal? Will I be told to buy a "real" warpriest? On a personal level, if someone has gone to the effort to make a darn good conversion to one of their minis (more than a different colored paint job) and they want to play it as another mini of the same size, meaning, they cant modify Sauron and play it as Aragorn, I say, "more power to them." |

Well since even the large tournaments are still privately run by clubs or leagues each on will have their own take on the matter. How the DCHL and GBHL run proxies is different by quite a stretch but I don't know where say the anzacs, or Italians stand on this question. You just have to ask the organizers of the tournament you want to go to and see what they say I suppose. |

I think most tournaments accept conversions within reason but proxies need to have a seriously good reason to have them; otherwise the organiser will normally ask you to write a list with what you actually have. |

That's how it may be under the GBHL but others run it differently. Under the DCHL you can play armies of nothing but proxies so long as they look the part. I've never heard what anyone else does it but hey some of the Australians tourneys use fan made expansions so who knows. |
