I have a lot of Ebob horsies - they come in a variety of sizes as real horses come in a variety of sizes too. His hero horse is magnificent (very Shadowfax) and I like the English heavy cavalry horses - they are very substantial. There is no issue mixing these with GW stuff but for some horses there is no saddle or harness so you would have to sculpt those yourself. Ebob's work is fabulous.

Im thinking of taking one of those "hero" horses too for a captain i would like to make. but i dont know which one to take. I dont know which size is the proper one for lotr miniatures.

Dorth, have you tried mounting LotR figures on them? Do they fit well?

I bought some Norman horses from Wargames Factory and they needed a bit of carving to fit the riders because they were somewhat bulkier than LotR horses.

Ebob did one himself - Gandalf on Shadowfax using a foot version of G the White and his own hero horse sculpt to achieve a 28mm rendition of this: http://www.wetanz.com/gandalf-the-white-on-shadowfax/
I am only a minimalist converter (not being a sculptor) so when I referred to the Ebob horses, I meant complete Rebellion and Traibes of the East cavalry for the most part. The 6 riderless horses he has produced are probably very close to the GW plastics size.
