hi all
ive been thinking of doing a game with no bow limit:
simple question: will it work?

i think the main problem would probally be speed; the shoot phase would take months

what do you think?

I did that once with Uruk Crossbows. I almost broke my opponent before he even get into combat :)

I think the main problem will be that the game would be incredibly unbalanced as ukfreddybear says, every army would have 100% bows, and anyone foolish enough not to would be crushed. Also defeats the object of the Grey Comapany special rule.

seem to me that one of the reason they gave the game a bow limit is its quite a slow part of the game .. all those individual shots that might hit something in the way, do people play some sort of sped up version of it where you can roll all the dice at once and distribute like volley fire or something?

No, there one reason why there is a bow limit, and it is for game balance.

If you have a line of archers shooting at a line of shieldmen, you don't need to differentiate between shots. Just say "These guys are shooting at these guys and they have uninterupted LoS." Then count them up and roll the dice.
