Post subject:  Your Favourite Fellowship character?

Hey guys,

I bring you a question that I hope can get a few replies before tomorrow.

We (me and my sister) are new to the hobby and at the Games Workshop they are allowing people who are new to the hobby to paint a figure from the fellowship and take it home. We are going to do one between eachother but we don't know which member to choose!

Give a vote in the poll and tell us why you have chose with a comment and we'll choose the model with the highest votes.

Thanks in advance. :)

GuardianoftheCitadel.

I suggested Gandalf for you because I'm not partial to any members of the Fellowship as they're not evil enough, but Gandalf is cool.

And Merry takes the lead!

He's a favourite of mine, mainly due to his humour, and Dominic Wood did a great job acting him out.

The 'Heroes of the West' minature in his Rohan Armour looks particularly striking. 8)

Have to go for Aragorn, tough decision nonetheless. I like Sam, because I think he is the main hero, I also like Gandalf because he is brilliant. But Aragorn it is

My favorite "character" is the combination of Gimli and Legalos together. The basically function as a single character with one story arc going on between the two of them.

Also very fond of Bill the Pony.

I liked Borimir in the films, mainly because Sean Bean did such a great job. Borimir wasn't as good in the books, so PJ did a nice job adapting him to film; kind of improved the character. For me Borimir is the most human in character, he's a badass warrior that redeems himself in the end.

Was a tie between Boromir and Pippin, Boromir is someone who wasn't perfect (i hate perfect characters) he had flaws to overcome and was pretty awesome in terms of his experiances in leadership and combat. Other hand Pippin also wasn't perfect and was seen as a great nuisence right until ROTK, but he was halarious and added a new dimension to the fellowship.

Really? I disagree entirely. In the films Boromir is pretty evil right from the beginning, whereas in the books the Ring progressively corrupts him.

My favourite character in the Fellowship, and indeed the whole of LotR, is Aragorn. He's just such an admirable person.

I also like Sam and Gandalf. Sam because of his loyalty and down-to-earth-ness , and Gandalf because he's such a big part of LotR.

Aragorn ftw

Aragorn, however I would ideally like to put 'Legolas AND Gimli'. Those two in the film are quite a pair! But as the question asks for singular and not plural, I'll stick with Aragorn ;)

Samwise Gamgee. The book version although Sean Astin did a great job (not as good as Bill Nighy in the BBC radio plays though imho). The journey to Mordor is mostly told via Sam's views and thoughts and he shows his courage and true mettle when confronted by overwhelming odds and he is the levelheaded everyman (or hobbit)

Sorry guys, internet has been down so i'm in the apple store replying to this!

We had just played a game of 40k so we painted Space Marines instead. Sorry for this, but thanks for your inputs all the same.

I voted Gimli on my daughter's behalf. He's her absolute favourite in both book and movie. I have a feeling that my future son-in-law is going to be short and hairy.

Nobody likes Frodo.

Your daughter will get her wish in a matter of fact as i'm building a small dwarvish squad at the Games Workshop LOTR academy on a Sunday and i'll be buying a Gimli to lead them :)
