I always hated painting metal minis. Maybe cause I never used primer, but my metal Kataphrakts were a nightmare to paint.

I have never understood the whole "I like to feel the weight of a metal model" argument. If you're going to be transporting figures around in a figure case, surely you'd want it to be lighter?

FineCast of the Hobbit Era is very nice bar price. Those Mirkwood Spiders _ wouldn't not have been able to work with metal or plastic ones for the bases I did on them.

Only bad thing i can say about my finecast miniatures is that they are so damn hard zo glue. And yes, I am using the right glue.

I don't think that the added weight of metal is significant when transporting. I do like it on the tabletop thou

The problem with GW is if they do not sell it they won't tell you about it.

It works for metal too! I am sure it is my age but I do not have any trouble with converting metal. In some ways the tin is easier than lead. It will not melt from friction as fast.

Fine cast has some potential. I have many great models in finecast now that are very nice. but there are pro's and cons.

My Easterling Warpreist is bent in half from not being able to support itself on 1 foot in warm temperatures.

I like metal models and plastic models, have had bad casts of both of those materials as well, and many a time had to file for hours on metals that were off set molded (when the two halves were not aligned and left a thick off set).

Many metals with very bent and sometimes broken weapons in package just like finecast.

I have had rough texture metals from too much talc in the mold and that is horrible where my finecast have always been smooth.

Finecasts are sometimes hard to tell what the model is on the sprue do to so many gates/sprues and flash on them.

Plastics are sort of good, the details on the new ones are very sharp so plastic may be the way of the future. I don't think they like doing heroes in plastic because heroes sell differently than warriors so making an mold insert is hard to cost out correctly (I know I would hate to make a steal mold of anything $$$).
