I'm as excited by the new Pelennor Fields starter set and rulebook and, especially, the newly-reworked narrative scenarios. But I'm still trying to push along my run through the Return of the King journey book, this time looking at The White Rider and the Black:

I gotta admit, I'm pretty tempted to chuck it and try working through the new scenarios.

I read the Bat Rep and enjoyed it as I always do, but it seems like you didn't enjoy the scenario. I'd like to see you finish the scenarios, but if you're not enjoying them, there's no point in wasting your time either.

Thanks, GKA! Having come this far, I'll probably finish the RotK scenarios. After all, it's hard to tell whether I'll enjoy a scenario until I give it a try.

That said, it's hard to avoid the feeling that the RotK book was less a labor of love and more of a going-through-the-motions product.

Unlike the recent ME work, I must add. There and Back Again and the narrative scenarios in the Army book look pretty solid.
