Also the superior ranged efforts from the crossbowmen! Blinding light is overrated........

My fellow One Ringers, I come to you today to announce that I have attained an achievement long awaited. I have, for the first time I can recall, seen Gil-Galad kill a full strength three wound hero in on combat. One this day did Gil-Galad strike down Thorin, Erebor Reclaimed edition, Oakenshield during the second part of a heroic combat with three natural sixes and bypassing Thorin's only fate point. I have been long in waiting to see this feat of Gil-Galad killing a major hero in a single go. I declare this to be the achievement "Gae Bolg" in honor of the great hero of Ulster mythology, Cúchulainn, and his mighty spear of that name as depicted in the Fate franchise and Celtic mythology. While this might not seem like an achievement of any great rarity, I must say that I have been waiting with great anticipation to see this happen. I am pleased that it finally accoutred but disappointed that I did not get any pictures. I will say that my opponent was most displeased with the event and I fear that I my have acted in an unsporting manner by dwelling on it in front of him but I do hope that he bears me know ill feelings for that or for making this post to commemorate an achievement I find so exciting. |
