Just for a bit of fun my brother and I played a bit of a made up scenario today. It involves the hijack of a Mumak. Full report on the blog: http://simbattleboard.blogspot.com.au/2013/02/battle-report-hijack.html Here's a preview of some shenanigans: Note: Tolkien/gaming purists may not wish to read it =) |

THAT WAS AWESOME! Haha imagine if you had like a faux naval battle, with Mumaks and gorgoroths attacking each other, the men using grapple lines and boarding planks to get to each other- it would be so cool! Or even mounted ballista's XD |

I cringed at that sorry. Not because I'm a purist but because hroughout the whole thing I kept (in my head) screaming at the Goblins and Haradrim in this to "Stop fighting! You are on the same side!" Other than that, good one |

Awesome scenario, and it ended up being really balanced, which I wasn't sure of at the start. Thanks for sharing. |

That was a fun, awesome read. It looks like a great game. I think my favorite part of your nariative was: "As he stumbles the two goblins clamber over him and stab him repeatedly until he ceases to move. Then they stab him some more for good measure. " You can almost see the Goblin-logic in that. Very creative scenario. At first I figured it would be an easy escape for the Goblins but it really did work out well and balanced at least for the one game. What did you settle on for starting points on each side (not counting reinforcement arrivals of course)? |

I love the idea, perhaps if the goblins win they could use a mumak in the next battle? Now that would be awsome! But would probably fit better in a campaign. Great report! |

What did you settle on for starting points on each side (not counting reinforcement arrivals of course)? Thanks all =) We didn't really care about balancing, it just turned out close in the end! There were no starting points limits, we even custom chose to put some Watchers in the Harad Howdah as they make better boarding parties due to the extra attacks. The continual supply of horses were just the number of raiders my brother owns and were literally just there to keep stalling the goblin Mumak. So I guess we were really just after some fun and threw balance and fair play right out the window, opting for some photographic and narrative moments. The boarding actions really were great fun! |
