My friend is out of town for some business and it may be some time before he comes back. So we invented a way to play over the internet!!

Cyberboard is a very nice peice of software for PBEM gaming (Play By E-Mail).I just used it in a different way this time for interactive game play and battle reporting and it was a great experience for us. It only needed some setting up to start playing.

I loaded the software with some terrain and models images and managed to set up a battle field for a lotr scenario. For more interactive and faster game play, we played over the web cam (this way we could still taunt each others... ;) ), and sent the files back and forth as we made our moves. We managed to play a full game in less than two hours. It would have taken much less time if it wasn't the first time we used the software. Also measuring tools and templates we put in the game need improvements to be more easier and faster to use.

I won't say no more, but you can download the software and the game file using the links below. I hope you enjoy it.

Software: http://www.4shared.com/file/65575210/a0 ... dv303.html
Game file: http://www.4shared.com/file/65823131/1c ... tator.html

CORRECTION: In the shadow shooting phase. Shadow models should not be shooting at all as they took full movement in their movement phase. Sorry for the mistake as I'm picking things here and there from different files we used during our game trying to put it in a readable and easier to follow form.

First you need to download the software and the game file, install the software, run "CBPlay" from the software directory, then use it to open the game file.

After you open the file you'll notice some entries under "Game History" in the list. Double click the first "Scenario Notes" (mainly the scenario description) and notice that the VCR buttons in the tools bar is becoming active now. Then open the "Board1" (Game table) by double clicking, it'll open in a separate tab. Notice the tabs at the bottom of the window, and you can go back to first tab from there. Use the "Next Move" (F3) button in the tools bar to step into game one move at a time (you can use F3 from keyboard). You'll notice that some fo the moves are actually some messages we write that'll appear in a special box below the map to annotate the game as it progresses. I replayed only one turn of our game for presentation. WHen the "Next Move" Button is inactive then you completed this History Entry. To go to next entry you can either go back to the first tab and double click the next entry, or simply click the double arrows "Open Next History" (F4) button in the tool bar, then again "Next Move" to step in move by move. And so on till you finish all entries.

This is one turn from our game. Hope you find it interesting and let me know what you think.

Enjoy!!

BTW guys, for easier playback you after you open the "Board1" as described in main post you can right click on the board and check both "Automatic Playback" and "Automatically Step To Next History". Now you can sit back and watch the whole game running as if you watch the game as we play it. Also you can pause/Play at anytime by clicking the "Next Move (F3)" Button.
