With just over a week until our Great British Hobbit League tourney event here in East Grinstead, Joe came over to club to show me how the Warganation scenario works - Sam played Tom on another table - this report is already online.

And so it was set, two armies meet for battle - but wait, "OH NO, WARG ATTACK!"...
..will the Umbar army dominate and destroy the elves, or will the Warg over run both armies. Galadhrim knights are often looked down on as not as good as... well other cavalry, BUT - I usually field what I like the look of, and I like the Galadhrim Knights. I steered away from bright gold, and opted for a muted brown/gold - I hope you like it as I love these figures now that they have been painted - so with everything to play for, who will win and win the day - Umbar, Galadhrim or warganation!

Hope you enjoy!

Cool write up! It's nice to see the full mounted Elven army along with the new custom scenario. I think it will be interesting to see how people do when they play this at the tournament.

This is the sort of creative thinking I like to see - something different from the usual two army set up. Great report - a real nailbiter to the finish.

For those who are interested, hit the spoiler tag below for full scenario details.

Click to: Show
Scenario 1: Wargonation.

Two armies meet for battle, but OH NO WARGS ATTACK AAAAAH!!11!!

Layout:
Terrain will already be set up by the TOs. Place a small marker in the middle of the board and then alternate placing markers just as you would in a game of domination. These markers are now ‘warg pits’.

Deployment:
Deployment is the standard deployment. On a 1-3, the warband must be deployed with 12” of the centre line. On a 4-6, the warband may be deployed anywhere on the controlling players half. Take it in turns to deploy one warband.

Special rules:
Storm of claws:
While wild wargs are common allies of the forces of evil, the pack of wargs that have been disturbed here bear no allegiance to anyone except their home, and will do anything they can to eradicate the intruders.
At the start of the game place 2 wild wargs on the centre warg pit, and 1 on each of the other pits.

The wargs are controlled by neither player, they simply move towards the nearest possible model. Wargs will always move before both sides but after any heroic moves. A warg will always charge the nearest model possible, if two models are both the same number of inches (rounded down) away from a warg then roll a d6, on 1-3 the warg will charge one players model, and on 4-6 he will charge the other players model. Wargs never need to take courage tests in this scenario.
Whenever a warg dies, at the start of the next move phase roll a die for that warg and consult the table.

1. The warg is placed (by the player with priority) on warg pit 1.
2. The warg is placed (by the player with priority) on warg pit 2.
3. The warg is placed (by the player with priority) on warg pit 3.
4. The warg is placed (by the player with priority) on warg pit 4.
5/6. The warg is placed (by the player with priority) on warg pit 5 (centre pit).

Pack Leader: After 8 wargs have died a ‘warg leader’ will spawn at the centre warg pit. A warg leader has the same stat line as a warg chieftain. It will however get +1 attack on the charge and has resistant to magic. It has no might, will or fate.
It follows the same rules as every other warg, with the exception it will not respawn.

Victory Conditions:
You will score:
1VP per warg killed 3VP for killing the pack leader
3 VP for breaking the enemy and not being broken (1VP if you are broken aswell as the enemy being broken)
3VP for killing the enemy leader (1VP for wounding).
The game will end when one army is reduced to 25% of its starting number.

I like the idea. I think I might play it with a third player controlling the Wargs and remove the VP's for killing the Wargs and the normal way. Just to test which way I'd prefer
