With the advent of the new rules, how are we supposed to level our heroes? I'd guess Lieutenants would be Fortitude Heroes (the rank of Lieutenant is just under Captain) while Sergeants Minor Heroes?
Has anyone already thought about this?

They're not relevant in any way, are they? BC doesn't use the warbands system for army building; it's just a collection of guys, no?

I too was wondering how they influence anything. If you're adding in the new heroic actions, I guess it would affect who could challenge who. Given their initial stats, all really aren't more than minor heroes to begin with. The only other special rule I can think of is the auto-passed courage test for the legendary characters, which certainly won't befit any battle company characters until very far into a campaign.

Well, I suppose that it would matter if one used the point system to bring a battle company to a points match game. I think the problem would be solved by using the open play method and declaring the battle company heroes to be whatever rank the players think acceptable. But in normal battle companies no one should have access to anything but the three basic heroic actions anyone so it should not be a problem most of the time.
