Anyone used the Tamiya grey primer much? Worthwhile? Obviously its cheaper than other brands, but just wondered if there was much difference. Cheers! |

yes i have used it, its good but the Aerosol pressure is high so use sparingly, also the tin is very small so i am not sure if the price works out cheaper, also i have only seen it in grey. Its not my chosen primer, prefer the Vallejo versions |

Nice one, cheers for the advice. Have you tried the spray primer that Humbrol make too...? |

I used it a while back. Runs out very quickly if your painting 50 or more minis like I do at a time. I prefer to use Plastikote(TM) metal and plastic primer available from hardware stores. Better in my opinion. It goes on seemingly thick but somehow dries very thin. Also if you have any grease or dirt you have missed it seems to stick. The Tamyia paint is a little more fussy about what it applies to. And the bigger can is better money value to. The Tamiya can is $16- 20 NZ and the Plastikote is $24 but it is 4 -5 times the volume. But the Tamiya pants are available in more colours if your into priming in a base colour.. which is handy. This is my opinion of course |
