just wondering, does anybody know of these cards? they are really cool. i don't collect them, i just save the images as references.

Where any of the images from New Line and axed from the films?

no. i believe that they were created specifically for the cards only.

i actually know a guy who appeared on a decipher card. he worked for weta, on LOTR and avatar. he became a tutor in my class

There are some images from the first 10 sets that were axed from the film. Most are right out of the film. And, as pointed out, there are a lot of staged shots too. Like radagast, anarion, gahn buri gahn and elrond's sons, just to name a few. There are also a good number of shots taken from the skirmish between the elves and the moria goblins after gandalf's fall.
