Hi. I undercoat using Gesso and have found it to be a great substitute for having to use spray cans.

Anyone have any thoughts on Gesso as a replacement to a spray primer?

So far, black Gesso seems to go on evenly, but white tends to streak, which isn't such a problem as the basecoat covers that up.

I just wanted to get a sense of any tips or tricks for this, or if some people out there have a negative opinion of Gesso.
