I don't know if someone has posted this already, but there's some new stuff in the painting and tools section.

I think the liquid green stuff looks like it could be very useful, so I'll probably get some very soon,

I saw the new White Dwarf.Lots of very beautiful Photos and rules for stuff I do not have the least bit of interest in.Way too many eggs in one basket, a must have addition for a game no one has ever heard of and can't get.Need less to say I did not buy it.
I looked at the section on the new tools. WOW! That is the biggest rip off yet! Dollar store tools for 15 times the price! The new Liquid green stuff is over priced wood filler.
I was going to the GW store opening today. I decided to skip it and go to Hobby Town instead.

Testors contour putty - $1.00 cheaper, and you get more. 12ml of green stuff vs 18ml of Testors.

I'm beginning to think that GW stands for (insert Elmer Fudd voice here) Gweat Wipoff.

Used the liquid greenstuff today- quite nice and easy to use. There are similar items on the market of course, but I'll probabs use GW's for convenience.
The mold-line scraper is really cool- much nicer to use than a exacto knife and less liekly to slip and damage a model. Really liked it and bought one for myself. The brush that comes in the same pack seems fairly pointless though...

Liquid Green Stuff sounds good. Alhough I won't ever buy any of GW's tools because they are so many cheaper equivilents out there.

anyone think that the new tool sounds like another GW gimmick?

Why a gimmick? They're useful tools to have. Many long term hobbysist may well shrug their shoulders as they already have similar tools or other things which do the job as well. They won't need these things.
Newer hobbyists will need these tools.
Heck, I've been doing this for years and I've bought a scraper just because it's easier and safer to use than a knife.

Well, I just placed an order for the liquid green stuff and am looking forward to trying this stuff out...hoping that it will make my jobs quicker and more efficient with my use of the putty and not be left with waste like most of my projects. :)

I will not get it just yet as I recently bought a full pack of ordinary greenstuff. Tell us if it is any good :)

the liquid green stiff is there to fill the air bubbles in the fincast models. I am not talking about miscasts with large voids, just the small air bubbles, which they do not seem to be able to avoid in these "fine" models. The same thing can be had by using a small amount of the green milliput, making a small saucer and adding water to the middle. Then swirl your OLD paintbrush in it, get the brush nice and green, then drag it across small gaps and bubbles to fill them.

I will admit that it could be a useful tool for new gamers, but many of the hobby supplies that GW sell are not worth the price. You would be surprised how many things you could find lying around a house with a sharp edge, that could easily be used instead of a $15 GW tool. Of course I don't want to discourage people from buying something if they need it, but it seems to me like another unnecessary GW item. Oh, and there is this...

They want you to pay extra for their resin casts (Which I actually believe are cheaper to make, I have seen other websites turn metal to resin, and either lower the cost, or increase the amount you get for the same price), and then they want you to buy their new product to help even out the more expensive and "superior" new molds of theirs. I may be wrong, it's just my opinion and I mean no offense, but this sounds like a gimmick to me.

Personally, I find the concept of the "liquid green stuff" to be interesting, though I expect I could do just as well with BiC Wite Out (which you can get just about anywhere that sells office supplies).
The rest, beginners need to know that they can get something just as good (or better) at a proper hobby supply store for significantly less money.

I didn't know about the problem with Finecast, but I'm gonna leave that alone for now because I've been on the soapbox enough recently.
