Speachless! I'm glad to see this part to! As I said in part 1, I never tried resin myself, and I'm not going to use it on my Helms Deep, but the huge amount of pictures in this guide make lots of things clear! The back of the fort is amazing, the way it looks like holes in the rocks... very nice job! Great guide Geboom! Really, thanks a lot for sharing! Isc. |

I have to say, Gerard Boom is the best terrain maker on the planet! This model stands out as the most magnificent piece of work I have ever seen, and is only rivalled by Gerard's own Amon Sul. I cannot wait to see what else this master magician has up his sleeve. |

That is a truly impressive piece of modelling. The dedication needed to complete such a project must be massive. I really liked the back of the model, showing some of the passageways and caves. That was a great idea. The masonry looks brilliant. It's one of those models where you have to double-take. Squint and you could be there, looking down from a mountainside onto Helm's Deep. |

Post subject: | Helm Deep with resin |
That is Fantastic! I slaved away with PVA / Sand and a Stick to create all the bricks on My Deep.... had to paint them all idividually for a good effect... resin looks the way to go. Particularly liked the open back for gaming into the Deep! ( I made the top of the mountain detachable on mine ... but moving the figures was a pain and you couldnt really see the battle roaring inside.) I have just finished making some modular mountain pieces for the Rohirim to charge down for scenarion 16 and a full seige battle. There is a pic of my Helms Deep too, as I am trying to relocate it! Seems that the new rules will breath more life into large gaming board like this. There are some pic of the Mountain boards on the last alliance web site if you want a peek. |
