I had the joy of seeing it on the last alliance some time before here on One Ring. Very nice and well explained article , and well worth a 10!

What are you going to do with all the Theodons ? .. heheheh .. :P

This is the sort of thing I have never attempted myself so it is great to see someone else using the kit, with very acceptable results. I doubt whether anyone else at home would allow me to cast white metal figures in the kitchen.... but then I am not as lucky as some. 10/10 for an interesting and very well illustrated article.

As previously stated, a very enjoyable article, and useful for someone like me who hopes to start selling some minis (Dog Lord progressing decently, and it should obviously have figures to go with the books :wink: ).

Deserves absolutely no less than a 10/10.

An excellent and well prepared article!
UKfreddybear has done an outstanding job explaining the entire process.
Even if you never try this kit, the article is worth the read.

Just for the record, I do not intend to sell any of these castings. The five I made during this article have all been given away to friends. I have suggested to Dagorlad though that I could knock a few more out for future competition prizes, so you could acquire one that way perhaps.

I'm very Sorry for the Double post , but there si this one thing that has been bugging me. The things that you used to create the pouring holes , and which you filled with the metal , can they be re-used to make other miniatures ?

seems like a terrible waste if they can't.

This is a nice article and I'm sure it will be very helpful for those who are less lazy than I am. I don't even like to convert things very often, unless the inspiration really strikes me (probably due to my lack of sculpting ability.)

This kit is not recommended for molten plastic. Firstly, the fumes from the plastic would be extremely bad for you. Secondly plastic casting is done under extreme pressures via an injection process, so the force of just gravity would not create very detailed casts at all.

I do believe, however, that you can cast with resin using these moulds. I have also had a limited success with pouring casting plaster into larger shapes, but the thickness of the 'slip' has to be just right.
