Hi All, So the new Hobbit sourcebook due in the next couple months is going to contain a whopping 30 scenarios covering the events of the movie trilogy. I'd thought it be fun to speculate what they will. No doubt the old journey scenarios from the previous three Hobbit books will be included and updated. The new book will also include "historical" scenarios covering events from before the quest for Erebor. So here's my list of what I think the scenarios will be: An Unexpected Journey Roast Mutton The Chase Part 1 The Chase Part 2 (Rivendell Knights vs Hunter Orcs) The Capture Flight to Freedom Breakout Out of the Frying Pan Into the Fire The Desolation of Smaug Alone in the Woods Part 1 Alone in the Woods Part 2 (With the Dwarves) Flies and Spiders Part 1 Flies and Spiders Part 2 Barrels Out of Bonds Part 1 Barrels Out of Bonds Part 2 It’s Undoubtedly a Trap (Gandalf infiltrating Dol Guldur, Thrain, Azog, etc.) Bolg’s Raid on Lake-town The Battle of the Five Armies Fire and Water The Necromancer Ironfoot (Dain Arrives, Dwarves vs Elves) The Clouds Burst (Arrival of the Orcs) The Ruins of Dale To the King! (Thorin & co. charge out) Race to Ravenhill (Chariot River scene) Assault on Ravenhill The Battle of the Five Armies (One large scenario that allows you to play the whole battle as one game) Historical Smaug’s Attack on Dale The Sack of Erebor The Battle of Dimrill Dale Part 1 The Battle of Dimrill Dale Part 2 The Battle of Dimrill Dale Part 3 |

Most sources say no Unexpected Journey scenarios in the book. |

I've heard that. Is that confirmed for sure? It's seems GW would want to redo those AUJ scenarios. |

One of the first things known about the book is that it would replace DoS and BotFA profiles and scenarios as well as have some extra historical scenarios like dimril dale and others. This was in the seminar at Warhammer World during throne of skulls. They will probably redo some of the profiles from AUJ as well but the main strategy is that the main hobbit rulebook and There and Back Again will be companion books and go hand in hand and not be replaced by the new one completely. |

Is the idea behind There and Back Again that it's like the Journey Books they had for Lord of the Rings, only it's for the Hobbit. So the big hardback rulebook for the Hobbit SBG still is required for the game. ? |

correct. A new big hardback rulebook is expected q3/q4 next year but the there and back again will refine profiles for the hobbit DoS and BotFA as well as provide new ones. 30 scenarios from these movies and an additional 5/6 historical scenarios. |

Gotcha. Poor Rivendell Knights. No scenario for them. Ah well. I shall have to revise my speculations about the scenarios. |

There is a fantastic scenario called Hunting Orcs out there with Elrond and Rivendell knights vs Yazneg, Fimbul, Hunter Orcs on Fell Wargs and Fell Wargs out there somewhere. |
