"Please remember that these are rumors." I would be very surprised if this on turns out to be true |

A named rumour source is a promising sign, at least. Far better odds than some anonymous set of wishlisting. Fingers crossed though, more books would be good to have - even if I never play WotR, it'll be nice to have the books in case one day I'm able to. |

If this turns out to be true, then it is a good sign for our Hobby - shows that GW do actually care a bit about us after all! |

A ruleset for mass battles? Gee, I can't wait to field massive armies of Laketown, new Mirkwood or Gundabad Orcs! Oh wait.... |

At the risk of sounding the cynic, "massed battles" at the current price per model of the Hobbit line sounds cost prohibitive... [edit: Grashnar ninja'd me. Holding out a child's hope they'll re-release BoFA as Warmaster is the only way this could be affordable for most] |

Fingers crossed it's true. If it is and GW are showing they care for the game still, maybe we can show them in someway that we all still care. |

I would love this to be true, i really would. But, and a big but, why put the new character rules in the supplement that is coming in WD Weekly issue 46 as stated in this weeks WD? I don't think they would do that if a new source book or 2 where coming out |

There's no way they're releasing a mass battles (WOTR2). With the price point increase over time and the move to smaller and smaller SBG forces it doesn't make sense |

I dont think there'd be more than 10 people on this site who'd buy a war of the Ring sized army of finecast troops. In fact Id find it insulting if they assumed we could and still made the supplement. Though, you'll probably see sales of Galadhrim, Dwarves, and Morannons boom to replace the new models in this new style. If they made a mass battle supplement(I highly doubt....Id like to be wrong though) it would prove to be even a more confusing company than ever before. Ill believe it when I see it on the website, along with every rumor. Id assume a source book will come out though. It makes no sense not for them to photocopy 20 of the same pictures, make 2 new terrible scenarios, re print 5 profiles with one change, and still make $30 a copy. |

It would be nice to have a WotR revamp but I cannot afford finecast armies for the Hobbit. I have LotR covered |

I don't think they would do that if a new source book or 2 where coming out They've been doing that with 40K and WFB for a while now. They release models before the rules, then a few weeks later, they release the full rules for everything. |

While I’m not massing anything in fine cast, I have lots of lord of the rings plastics I can proxy in a friendly game. Any new rules would be interesting |

Yeah....well....over my year plus here ive seen a handful of collections that people have purchased that are worth the price of my car when I bought it new a few years back.......Im talking thousands of minis. Theres a few crazies out there who have a lot of miniatures. OR, some make it there career and make money off of it so they tend to have the money/reason to buy these things. But yes, 10 would be a suprise. |

I wonder if they're going to adjust the sizes of companies from eight to three. It would make it slightly more viable and would somewhat justify the packs of three minis. |

I don't think they would do that if a new source book or 2 where coming out GeeDub have been doing this for all their releases since the White Dwarf format changed. It isn't anything new. Also bear in mind that they arent allowed to release any models that have not been shown in the trailers before the film is released. This could also be the reason why the profiles are being held back until the film airs (clues as to the fate of the characters potentially) |

war of the ring was my game, i loved it. im keen for a revamp wotr for hobbit however geedubs would need to release plastics of at least 12 troops for their hobbit related armies like lake townsmen the new wood elves etc. as many of you have said, buying their 3 paks of finecast is expensive and we all agree im sure we like regular plastic so playing armies like this just inst easy. but a regular lotr army wont be too difficult to mass. |
