Not quite overposted, it's just a list that's popped up several times here. |

Yeah it's been around the block a bit now, every time I see a thread called 'spoiler miniatures' or similar I say a quick prayer in the hope that it won't be this list It was pretty clear it was a fake from day one, the list was simply far too broad and outlandish. Still remember how up in arms people were getting about Bofur riding a cave Drake and how this was all absolutely stupid and that they would quit playing the game |

With the way the past two movies have been, it wouldn't actually be that big a surprise to see a dwarf riding a dragon in the last film... (Fight fire with fire and all that) |

Nevertheless I for one would love to see more scenic poses from the hobbit movies, the unconcious Thorin for instance or Bofur in a barrel |

Shame this isn't a legit list. I've seen it many times before, but I'm still hoping for Elven light cav. |

Mind you I wouldn't mind a Werebeast for my Angmar army. LordElrond wrote: Shame this isn't a legit list. I've seen it many times before, but I'm still hoping for Elven light cav. You've got it - Galadhrim Knights. And Rivindell Knights are a sort of heavy cavalry. |

Not like that, like a bow cav. Insanely weak in melee yet good shots would balance the cost out enough I should think. High Elf Scout Riders. 10pts F. S. D. A. W. C. 1/3+ 3. 3. 1. 1. 5 Wargear: Unarmed, Elven Bow, horse (12" move) Special rules Expert Rider Woodland Creature Parthian shot: High Elf Scout Riders may shoot even if they have moved their full 10". Riding light: High Elf Scout riders travel light in order to travel swift. They always count as unarmed and do not gain an extra attack when they charge. They would go in the Erigion and Rivendell list so that they could not be abused and spammed, and so that they would be purely the 'scouts' of the army. |

Quote: Parthian shot: High Elf Scout Riders may shoot even if they have moved their full 10". This would be ridiculously overpowered - You could kite your opponent's models for an entire game, shooting every turn but never getting caught. That was an issue with past editions of the SBG which GW sought to balance in TH:AUJ with the -1 penalty for moving and shooting, and that was just for models that could only move half distance when shooting (3", 5" etc) nevermind models that can move a full 10" and still shoot. A better version would be... Quote: Parthian shot: High Elf Scout Riders never suffer the -1 penalty to To Hit rolls when moving. That way, they are still restricted to half movement (5") when shooting, so you are forced to sacrifice speed in order to shoot but you retain full accuracy, and your opponent still has a chance to catch them with careful maneuvering. Besides, like I said you already have a suitable light cavalry for elves. Galadhrim Knights have: -low armour (D4 without a shield) -access to elf bows -haves horses that can move 12" -woodland creature rule (cavalry that can move at full speed through woods!) Sure, the Galadhrim Knight models aren't suitable for your needs, with all the armour that they wear and the armoured horses, but the profile & rules are. I suggest converting some light elven cavalry from Riders of Rohan (Horses & riders' legs) and the plastic wood elf archers. Or maybe even Mirkwood Rangers. To represent the armour included in the profile, you could sculpt some light (leather) armour, leather jerkins, vambraces etc Then use the Galadhrim Knight profile, purchasing only bows, not shields or elven blades. In fact, talking about it now, I sorta want to do this myself, it sounds like it would be a really cool conversion. |
