There are no Orcs in the Hobbit. The book mentions Orcs but there are only Goblins in the story. Unless there is an extended version of the book or something? Bit miffed but still new Orc poses |

Bit miffed but still new Orc poses Orcs and Goblins are synonymous in Tolkien's writing. It's only PJ's depiction of Goblins as a smaller diminuitive breed and GW's adaption thereof in the rules that created a difference. In the end, they're all Orcs. |

Peter Jackson as added its from the Silmarillion to his Hobbit movie. The orcs are mostly likely from a scene about the war of the Dwarves and orcs. |

It's not a Silmarillion scene, its an extrapolation from Appendix A - the War of the Dwarves and Orcs wherein Thorin and Dain were bad-assed and did much mighty deeds. And slaughtered many Orcs. Including Thorin beating people with a large stick, hence "Oakenshield" |

So 55 figs in standard box, 56 in limited edition (aka Middle-earth a la Dark Vengeance stylie). Probably the same sort of price range. With scenery and so forth. Sounds good. |

so is "The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey (English) 288pp Hardback Book" going to be the new rule book ? as we know they removed the old one. I'm assuming they made new goblin poses? The old goblins haven't been removed yet unlike the starterset and the rule book. very exciting guys but still no pics.. |

I like that they renamed Wargs 'Fell Wargs' and Goblins 'Goblins of the misty mountains' to differentiate the different cultures/species of the north south divide in Middle Earth. |

That makes a lot of sense. I mean, if you watch the appendix videos on the Fellowship extended edition you can see the thought processes that created the "look" of the Moria "Goblins" - they seem to be going with the idea that their armour is inspired by some sort of cthonic fish, maybe something found in the deep places beneath Moria. While akin, the Goblins of Goblin Town would have a different set of cultural influences. Personally, I'm going to mix and match the little runts and create a "Misty Mountain Orc" look, but that's just me. |

I thought part of the Moria goblin armour style was to reflect their 'worship' of the balrog, hence the flame-like curved spikes and the curved and scalloped segments on the crude armour. |
