Wow the dwarves with spears look a bit similar to GW's Khazad Guard. Also there's a scene in there of Legolas in action, I think in a new outfit, not sure. |

Now the Khazad were never a plastic sprue, yet! Maybe these guys would definitely fit in a box set! They do look awesome and you can probably convert Khazad guards to be like them if one is impatient to get the proper models. So Oldman you're going to continue along buying the new product line at perhaps full price? |

Quote: So Oldman you're going to continue along buying the new product line at perhaps full price? I really don't know I don't like the price. However, Finecast is a bigger issue for me. I am most certainly not going to buy finecast spear units. I don't like GW plastic so I don't think there will be many more GW purchases in my future. I will probably buy some. I have already decided I am no longer going to collect the whole line like I usually do. |

I like what I saw in the blog. I assume you have all heard that PJ intents to make The Hobbit and the associated Necromancer storylines into 3 films, not 2? So 2012, 2013 and 2014 releases. GW will be pleased. They can get about 6 price increases in by 2014... |

With Lotr I've collected miniatures mostly based off of the films first, off of the books second, and only a few GW original concept third. Now with Hobbit I'll be more strict in what I buy and at what time I buy it. I won't have a large wishlist as I did before. Hopefully there will also be news about their upgrade in quality of their Finecast models in the future. If not then shame. |

Beorn? [/quote] This is Thorin! Can't be Beorn because he's not up until the second movie so they won't show him. |

Beorn is definitely in the first movie. After all he comes in before Mirkwood and we have seen footage of Mirkwood and the barrel riding (+ Beorn's house) |

The actor behind the hair and make up is Richard Armitage. This blog made me REALLY excited for the films. I heard they were doing Dec. 2012, Dec. 2013 and Jun. 2014. A little more dragged out, but at least it isn't a full year between the second and third parts! |

This is great even from a gaming point of view a another (cheap) Mirkwood hero is great especially with warbands but one thing worries me I don't remember Dale being a sort of Quasi-Mediterranean town I thought it would be more like a cross between Rohan and Gondor not something new altogether, does anyone know the description of Dale from the book |

Dale was pretty much destroyed when the group got there, so I don't think it was ever really described. I think it would be different than the other nations because 1. They were never part of Gondor and 2. The Rohirrim hadn't lived in the region for a long time. |

And Beorn will be shown in the first movie, that picture of Thorin is actually in Beorn's house. |
