Hi all, I don't know if someone posted this somewhere before, if so please forgive me, but when I was just looking around at The Last Alliance, I found this topic about the 2nd wave of finecast models for all three ranges, here's a link: http://www.thelastalliance.com/viewtopic.php?f=8&t=3747
it seems like these models will become GW's 2nd finecast production for the lotr range:

Vault Warden Team
Witch King of Angmar
Dragon
Uruk-hai siege ballista
Gondor battle trebuchet

It's good to see that blisters now will have 4 models in it (except heroes of course, I'm talking about warriors) which will be a lot easier for the WOTR range. But I better still order some metals in their normal blisters to get equal numbers before they'll be 4 each..

Im still say that the dragon isnt so good. I dont like how it looks like. Like a huge cow with two wings. I would be happier for absolutly new figures, expecially 24 figures cheap plastic box sets. Dreams, dreams...

Yeah I'll have to agree with you I'm afraid, wish some new miniatures were produced. And about the plastics, even if there wouldn't be some new kits, they'd still shouldn't make them so damn expensive :-X I was really shocked when I saw the plastics costing 26 euro instead of 22,50.. And about the dragon, it looks quite good IMO but that's just what I think of it of course. But I won't be needing a finecast one..

what happens when PJ releases the hobbit? Will GW have to re-sculpt some of their models, like Thranduril for example? What about the necromancer, i've heard that dol guldor is going to be in the film

Probalbly they will resculpt. There will be two version, I think that is not problem.

The good things in the Hobbit relase is then maybe there will be some new 24' figures boxed sets. Like the peoples next to the lake. And some new goblins too.

What I really hate that if I want a good 3-4 companies special formation, I simply cant make it, cause there is a 3 figures metal blister in the shop. Insane. So I have to modify simply figures. Thats a lot of work, and the result isnt perfect.

Here is my Black guardians from Mordor. I made them one by one. I used GS, plastics and orc.

I also believe that they will just release a new version of the character that looks similar to the film. And keep the old one as a different name such as:

Balin Moria (old)
Balin Erebor (new)

So, if there are now 4 figs per blister (or clam pack I suppose) does that mean we might see two Vault Wardens teams per CP?

Probably not.

@Bastion HUN: could we get some better pictures of your Guardians? I don't want to get off topic but they seem pretty cool for as far as I can see.
@Gaarew: Apparently the Vault Wardens will be 2 teams, yes. I don't know if it's true, but according to the post on TLA they will.
@ everyone else: I think they'll redo some models now in resin, and those of the Hobbit will be finecast aswell I'm afraid, I think GW will sculpt some new models so that they'll look like the charachters in the movies.. Same with the models we have now (Aragorn, Gandalf, Elrond,.. etc.)

I don't care about them being 4 models each, it's just the price I'm woried about.. it's rising everytime something new comes out it seems.. Which is pretty sad IMO, a couple of my friends enjoy the game but won't start with it because of the price.. I'd like to sell them some of my old stuff but of course, those are only main warriors, they'll still have to expand their army with elites and heroes and so on, which is to expensive.. I can't deny, have to agree with them, like all of you I guess..

Of coures, I will show a step by step tutorial about them. But they still need some highlight and base. When I finish, I will present them for the audience. :orc: :orc: :orc: :sauron: :orc: :orc: :orc:

I'm just waiting for the news that the Hobbit will be a 54mm Skirmish RPG ala Inquisitor to resurface...

No need to worry the 54mm rules are based on Rock paper scissors instead of Inquisitor.
The new 15 mm rules will be fully compatible to Flames of War. Frodo escapes in his Lake town swimwagon just like in the movie.

Lets stay on topic guys, don't want to get locked again...

I still belive they would just release two versions of characters that are in the hobbit (such as dain and thraundil) and release them with different names (balin moria, balin erebor) because they already have Dain and Balin on finecast, so I would think it would be silly for them to discontinue it so fast.

Heres a good review on finecast and one reviewing a 40k commissar:
