Hi, been away for months and months, and I'm not sure I can wade through thousands of messages... :) Noticed a few new things popping up at the GW site. Smaug looks pretty great, but at $600 there's no way. Also noticed the new mirkwood elves, which puts all those wood elves I lovingly painted ages ... |

I just think it's a pretty big advantage to be leveraging without any effort. We have allowed it if the other player has a similar suitable advantage and both players agree. It's not a hard rule, more like "guidelines" |

Heh, I don't think we'd allow cavalry to get up there. |

They're on different base sizes too, the cave troll is on a cavalry base (40mm), and the chief on a 60mm base. Base size is tactically important. |

I honestly feel like they didn't get enough special rules. Their heroes are average but they often lack special rules. Back then there were only a very few special rules (like Bodyguard and...uh, Bodyguard...), in fact a lot of people started getting irritated when more special rules showed up, the... |

As for the GotGC I know that rule I was planning on using them to support the heroes, Rumil with 4 attacks and parry is nasty (add in a Banner and it only get's better) I understand that, it's just that 2 is the bare minimum and you have to hope your opponent doesn't disrupt it (draws off pikes by ... |

Tough question. I think I'd have to agree about Erkenbrand. It's not that he's overpowered, because one-to-one he's normal, but he brings so much to the table compared to him point cost that if want to win with Rohan you almost have to have him. The closest I can get to OP is Rumil, but he needs pik... |

At the time it was was to use up the few remaining points I had left, the problem with elves is that you can have 70 something points left but it's still not enough to start a new warband, it the same issue I have with the current army list I have like 16 points left and 3 full warbands First point... |

I'm surprise Kingdoms of men didn't get more votes. I love the flexibility the heroes like Damrod, Beregond and Denethor give you as well as the range of troop types. I agree, but I think it's because even though they defeated Saruman and Isengard, and held off the vast hordes of Mordor, in game te... |

That's what GW did after LotR had dropped in popularity, they let it drift. If it weren't for the Hobbit movies I'm sure it would have been dropped or moved to their "specialist" games. I'd expect the same after the Hobbit movies are all out and the "extended" versions are releas... |

No, he's not in the fight, so he can be targeted. Evil doesn't risk hitting their own model either. |

The Hobbit rules have new monster attack options, which makes them pretty useful. |

A few comments: A good start, a troll chief is pretty good at that point level, but I think a wraith might serve you better. Orc bows do suck, but if your friend plays Rohan and runs around shooting and never charging in, you'll need something to unhorse him. As for the Knights, you don't need to co... |

But Leggys rule says he hits regardless of objects in the way so why does he need to make this in the way roll? The rule seems pretty clear that he hits whatever he targets be that rider or mount. Agreed. I can see how parsing RAW leads to GBHL's position, but... You can't tell me he can thread the... |
